I have a 1987 35 Sportfisherman that has had various thu hull transducers and intakes abandoned over the years. I would like to remove this unused ones. After removal, does anyone have a recommendation as to what to use to fill the "Hole." I was thinking of a mushroom or flat type thru hull, filling the intake hole with expoxy and then a cap. Finally, should these be bonded to the ships system? Thanks - Tim

Squared Away...next time you are in the yard have them taken out completely and the resulting holes feathered out and then glassed in and painted over with primer and new bottom paint. Two years ago I had 9 abandoned thru-hulls removed and glassed. It was about $65 each to have them glassed. Not one problem since and no leaks.
