Craig, In the Projects/Restorations section there is a head/sole replacement project that may help you. You can see how they cut the fbglass to access the rotted wood. I agree with Wes in trying to find the water intrusion that started the problem. In that area I would expect that the water would be coming from the port light or hull to deck joint. And this is a first for my to hear about this problem in this area. Good luck and keep us posted with your progress.

The head floor is higher than the shower compartment floor so if I cut into that floor, I'm not sure if I will be able to see anything. I guess I could make a very neat cut in the shower pan and remove a large piece of that floor and re-fiberglass the pan back together.
Craig I was thinking that if you can determine where the water is coming in and you stop it, why not drill a couple of holes at some point that would lead to under the shower pan and insert a nozzle with expandable urethane foam to fill in the voids under the shower pan and I would think this would provide support.

In all my years following this forum, that is a new one.
I agree with the other post, rather then cut out (and yes they are no longer avail), look at other ways to get in there to add some support.
Let us know how it goes.
