Hello there guys and gals! My name is Joe and I just registered here and wanted to introduce myself. I live in Rocky Point, NY - Long Island. I currently own a 1987 29 foot Thompson that I have on the hook in Mt. Sinai harbor and am looking to upgrade to a 33' Egg. I am currently negotiating a deal on a 1979 33 footer and was hoping to speak with current Egg owners about the pros and cons of this year/model Egg.

Thanks for your time and I am very excited to be a part of the Egg community!

I have a 1978 33 and I love the ride and handling characteristics of the boat. Not sure what your used to in an off shore ride but all boats roll, atleast all the boats in this price range do.. Your going to notice more roll from the fly bridge in heavy seas...Its just a fact of life..

I have been told that the 33' Egg has a tendency to roll a lot due to her tall height and shallow draft. Any 33' owners have anything to add to this?

Very nice ACK-ONE. I am going to see my current deal through but would still love to chat about the Egg characteristics and areas that I should pay attention to.

Good luck with your sale! Why are you selling? Are you getting another Egg?

Welcome to the Forum:

We just listed our 33' Egg built in 1985- in excellent condition. You can see more details on the brokers site www.hankaldrichyachtsales.com. In process of putting replacement engine on port side. Eggs are great boats, just be sure to get a good marine survey. Window leaks seem to be a big problem with most older eggs. Good luck! Smiler
