I have a 1973 33.
The vessel was made in 1972 and when sold it was documented. Later on in the 80s it was titled in MD.
The problem is that Maryland gave it a MDZ (Maryland Homemade Boat) designation instead of a EGG designation. I want to title the boat in Florida but they wont recognize the HIN# because it isnt a homemade boat. There is the original Documentation number in the engine room they say that means nothing in Florida. Florida says all boats must have a 12 digit HIN listing the manufacture designation Even if the boat was Built prior to the Requirement Of HINs in 1973. Florida requires all boats no matter what year the boat was built to have a HIN from the original builder.
I guess my question is in 1972 did Egg due this and where would the hidden 12 digit number be Confused

I have a 72 Egg 38 and the hull number was not stamped on that year of Egg. I found mine on top of the head door written with a felt pen. You will find the same numbers behind some of the trim pieces.

There is a hin# stamped in the fbglass on the transom in the upper starboard corner. Just lean over the combing boards and look for it. I hope this is what your looking for.
