Hi, I am thinking about buying a 33' Egg Harbor and I have a few questions. Were the hulls on 80s Egg Harbors balsa cored or solid fiberglass like Bertrams?
Can anyone tell me what to look for as far as problems on a 33 footer of this vintage. The engines in this boat have been replaced and the boat looks to be in very good condition.
11 degrees for 1982 and up. Not exactly sure what the 70's 33 were, my guess is 3-4 degrees.
Would you have an idea on transom deadrise?
The hull bottom is solid glass, wood core sides, same with the upper, which are very traditional design methods. Things to look out for are water intrusion within the window/bridge area's of the boat. Everything is fixable, it all depends if a problem was detected and corrected before damage was done.
Very good solid boat with plenty of room.
Side note, was waxing the boat and needed to step on a 31 Bertram next to my boat and it sure squeaked when I walked on it as well as cracks all over it, something I don’t have on mine and I run mine offshore all the time.
