FYI we successfully made our way to Dunedin "Marker 1" marina. The only mechanical problem enroute was having the drain cock from the starboard radiator working its' way loose, causing a high temp warning and 7 gallons of antifreeze in my engine bilge. Was a pleasant well marked trip.

I have done the trip several times through the lake. Every year there are more slow speed zones. You can count on a full day from Stuart to Ft. Myers. The route is well marked and the chanel is deep. GPS is still a blessing. Nice to have regular charts as well since there is a jog around the Clewiston area. You will pass through several locks. You will need good fenders and a couple deck hands. Watch your wake. Last trip through it got pretty nasty between some of the locals and the yacht owners. Definitely call the Army Corps of Engineers to make sure the way is open before you plan your trip.
